This policy covers the EngineMiles iPhone app and enginemiles.com, operated by TooAvid Technologies LLC. It describes the current app, including its private beta.
Your vehicle log
Vehicles, fill-ups, odometer readings, fuel amounts, prices, station names, notes, oil-change records, and app settings are stored on your device. EngineMiles does not upload this vehicle log to an EngineMiles account or server. The app does not automatically track your location or trips.
Widgets use a local copy of the information they display. Notifications use the permissions and reminder settings you choose on your device.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app payments and manages subscriptions. EngineMiles uses RevenueCat to validate and manage purchase access and understand purchase activity. Purchase processing can include an anonymous app-user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchase timestamps, and technical information such as app and device information or network address. This purchase processing is separate from optional app-usage sharing.
EngineMiles does not receive your payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy information and RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Optional app-usage sharing
“Share app usage” is off by default. If you enable it in Settings → Privacy, EngineMiles uses PostHog to understand screen and feature activity, onboarding, imports and exports, errors, and purchase flows.
Usage events can include an anonymous identifier, app/device information, locale, the screen or action, a coarse entry-count range, vehicle type, and the outcome of an action. They exclude vehicle names, station names, notes, odometer readings, fuel amounts, prices, log contents, and record identifiers. The app does not enable session replay or automatic capture of text you enter.
When usage sharing is enabled, purchase events may be connected to the same analytics identifier through RevenueCat. Turning sharing off stops new app-usage events. The app also updates its analytics preference with RevenueCat; that update can be delayed while offline. RevenueCat may send purchase notifications to the analytics service for processing, where consent checks control whether those purchase events are retained. Previously collected information is not automatically deleted by turning the setting off.
For questions about information already collected, contact us. See PostHog’s privacy policy.
Backups, exports, and deletion
Device or iCloud backups may include app data, depending on your Apple settings. Those backups are managed by Apple. CSV and backup exports go where you choose to save or share them.
You can edit or delete records in the app. Removing the app removes its local data from the device, subject to Apple’s backup behavior. Keep an export or backup if you want to retain your history.
